LOVE everything about this. In the photo series of ‘The Black Heroines Project’, Brooklyn-based photographer Marc Bushelle photographs his 5 year old daughter, Lily, embodying iconic black women. Bushelle says he wanted to teach Lily about history and these heroines in a fun and creative way. I tip my hat off to him. Check out these astounding images below::
as Mother Teresa- the religious sister and missionary |
as Shirley Chisholm- the first black woman elected to Congress |
as Bessie Coleman- the first black female pilot and first black to hold an international pilot license. |
as Admiral Michelle Howard- the Highest Ranking Female Officer in U.S. Navy history |
as Toni Morrison- Novelist and Professor |
