{Personal Post} Photos:: The Black Hair Experience exhibit #TBHE

Apparently, the last time I did one of these was 2017...
There was an era where I would often do Personal Posts with photos of an event I attended.  It seemed to be a thing of the past until I decided to revive it and post these!  Majority of the photos below were initially videos but turned into stills (which will explain any blurriness).  The Black Hair Experience, #TBHE, currently has two locations: Atlanta and Maryland.  Check their site out per the hyperlink for tickets and info.

In the meantime, here's a glimpse of our adventure to and through the exhibit...

Photos: A Visual Look from strangers of Things They Regret not Saying

Geloy Concepcion, ladies and gentlemen.
"It was just a random question that I asked on my Instagram. I think the main idea was to realize that we can use this platform to be OK and to be vulnerable."  "...At first I was just like, 'Oh, I'll make maybe a series of 40 images.' And then after my first post, I think I got like 90 more responses. That's when I told my wife, 'I think I just started something.' ".  -Concepcion via NPR.

This collection is striking and powerful.  Not only are your vulnerabilities displayed in a safe and non-demeaning way, but you will find a sense of comfort in a relatable one.... knowing that you are NOT alone.

Jaden Smith to open a Restaurant that will Give Free Food to the Homeless

 Pay it forward.

In 2019, Jaden Smith launched an initiative called "I Love You" for his 21st birthday... a free vegan food truck that made it's way on Skid Row in LA to feed the homeless; serving nearly 8,000.  Now, Smith is taking it up a notch and evolving this project to a restaurant.

His idea for the "I Love You" restaurant is...  "It's for homeless people to get free food.  but if you're not homeless, not only do you have to pay but you have to pay for more than the food's worth so that you can pay for the person behind you".  Interesting concept.  The idea alone deserves all the kudos.  I am looking forward to seeing the final execution.

Lil' Jon snags his own HGTV Renovation show... "Lil' Jon Wants to do What?"

Turn down for what?!?!?
Set to film in his hometown Atlanta, the king of Crunk will be joining HGTV for a new series consisting of Jon's talents in interior decorating and architecture; described in the press release as an offer to "skeptical homeowners startlingly unconventional renovation ideas that seem impossible to execute".
Lil' Jon expressed excitement and hype for this new venture stating that "I love walking into someone’s house and turning it upside down. When people hear my name, they automatically think… fun! That same energy goes for my designs as well. I don’t love following design trends—I would rather be the trendsetter.”
You better believe this will certainly be entertaining.
Coming soon... Summer 2021.

***UPDATE: The show premiered May 2, 2022 and airs on Mondays @ 10pm.

Personal Post: Vulnerability

This stage of my life is labeled Vulnerability.  Noun 2: Willingness to show emotion.

What I've learned during this particular journey is ... it is OK to ALLOW myself to FEEL whatever emotion I am experiencing at a moment and to acknowledge it.

There is something major going on in my life that I plan to share once the obstacle is complete.   Just wanted to give you all a quick update for the missing posts milk carton.

This evening I had the itch to write through it and so I am here.  Will talk soon.  Xoxo.
