{Personal Post} PHOTOS:: Taino Bay, Dominican Republic

I'm back!  Excusez-moi s'il vous plait.  October and November were rough on me this year.  There will be an end of the year post addressing all that.  Let's rewind though back to October.  For my 35th birthday (whoop whoop), I went on a 7day solo trip to different countries/islands.  You'll see more in future posts.  The airline misplaced my luggage (upside down smiley face) so I went an entire week literally thugging it out.  All I had in my plane carry on tote were sunglasses, eyebrow brush, 1 lipstick, my journal/pen, passport, wallet, charger, airpods.  All toiletries I had to buy that night and clothes each day when I could.  Traveling to remote areas is a great idea unless this happens lol.  When you see me in tourist shit in these pics and hair all wild, just mind ya business... that's all... just mind ya business.  I had to make due!  I, also, had a mini photo shoot a couple days before I left (i.e. the pic above).  Thank God for that.  You will see them trickled throughout.

When life gives me lemons (often), I make orange juice.

On my actual birthday... first stop.  Taino Bay, Dominican Republic!

I started my birthday off in Church, which I truly felt on a spiritual level.  Kicking off the days' events with a praise of thanks and prayer of hope to the Man.

They would not leave.  This was THEIR territory.

After church, I ended up at a local museum to learn some history.

Mini piano.  Very significant to me...

A few steps later in the tour, there was a grand piano :D.  The guide asked was there anyone in the tour group who can play the piano.  Surprisingly, I was the only one to raise my hand.  She THEN said that I could play it.  This historic piano from the 1800s.  Anything?  i asked.  She nodded.  I played the intro to Stevie's Ribbon in the Sky.  Everyone clapped.  A FEEL good moment.

It was HOT.

After the museum, I ended up at a Rum Distillery.  Time to get the party started.

There are rums not pictured, but you get the gist.  Not only did we do a toast, BUT there were 9 different rums total.  I had all 9 shots offered :)

bottoms up.

I had received a bad call by this time, but there was no denying that this landscape was absolutely beautiful.

No pictures from the second museum I visited, due to reacting to the call with the bad news.
"... i shed so many tears"- T. Shakur.

Deep breaths and back at it.  I found myself on 'Umbrella St'.  The name is self-explanatory.

as is this one.  'Pink St.'
The lady in the front... I can't remember her name.  However, we started talking and her birthday was also this week.  Down to earth.  Very glad we met.

Shots of wine in the gift shop.  Don't mind if I do.

back to some water to decompress.

All in All... Taino Bay was very good to me.

Cheers to another year of life!
