{Personal Post} PHOTOS: The Book of HOV Exhibit | Brooklyn, NY

don't talk to me 'bout MCs got skills

he's alright, but he's not real

Jay-Z's that deal.

The fam and I headed up to Brooklyn for this double joyous occasion.  I went into detail about my emotions towards the exhibit when announced in the July post.  Those feelings I expressed and shared intensified upon arrival.  Just incredible.

I don't think you understand what type of event this is.

Seriously.

Like above, this post will be filled with Hov bars from several songs to convey.  I stand by the saying that it's one for everything.

Let's get into it.

A celebration indeed.  The Book of HOV.

But NONE of y'all muhfxckas could fool with me.

excluding NOBODY.

Time Warp...1999: Amil x Mia-X SPRITE Commercial

Circa 1999.
The XXL mag with this photo is at the crib Right Now.

Play some No Limit and I got you on Mia's verses there.  However, with this particular commercial... I was stuck on my girl Amil.  Even still, can recite her verse without pressing play and actually is the reason for this post because it was stuck in my head randomly.  SPRITE had a series of these with female rappers.  If you remember them, which one was your favorite?  They need to bring em back!

Even wit nails done and somethin tight on...

“Rihanna is my Celebrity crush”. Rapper B.G. fills in the blanks from Prison

Christopher Dorsey a.k.a B Gizzle a.k.a. Baby Gangsta b,k.a B.G.

Unfortunately in 2012 at age 31, B.G. was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for gun possession and witness tampering.  While doing his stint, XXL Mag/Emmanuel C.M. caught up with him for the Winter 2015 issue for a piece called ‘Doin Lines’.  I’ve always enjoyed the ‘fill in the blanks’ of random questions.  See what B.G. had to say below::

1. My biggest regret in life is FLIPPING TO THE LAST PAGE OF MY CASH MONEY CONTRACT AND SIGNING IT OUT OF LOVE & LOYALTY.

2. Birdman is FAMILY, HE RAISED ME.

3. I keep busy in jail by READING, WRITING, WORKING OUT AND CHILLING.

Paging Mr. Herman ! Check out the trailer for "Pee-Wee's Big Holiday'

Friday, March 18^th.  According to his site, the movie is described as :;

The new film stars the beloved fun-loving hero of TV, stage and film, ME!! In Pee-wee’s Big Holiday, a fateful meeting with a mysterious stranger inspires me to take my first-ever holiday in this epic story of friendship and destiny. The film stars me (!), Joe Manganiello (True Blood, Magic Mike XXL), Jessica Pohly (Stalker), Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development) and Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), and was directed by John Lee (Wonder Showzen, The Heart She Holler). Beans Comes to His Senses...

It’s about time. I guess he realized… arguing with the man who had full participation in helping you develop as an artist as well as your career was NOT a good look and FINALLY apologized. While you were on street corners filming videos for World Star… and makin lame diss tracks.. Hov was countin $$$. LOTS and LOTS of $$$.
I told many of people [when having convos about Beans] how disappointed I was in him. Like yo… that was a dumb move. Now look at you. Shoot Bleek don’t EVER have to drop another album in his whole life..he played it smart.

“Bleek could be one hit away his whole career, as long as I’m alive, he’s a millionaire, and even if I die, he’s in my will somewhere…”-Hov. Enough Said.

Back to Beans. TALENT. RAW. COMEDIAN (lol). All of thee above. It was like one of those movies where someone was doing good then years later you see them on a video all cracked out lookin simple talkin bout how it was “EVERY body else fault” their career went downhill. Never bite the hand that feeds you…EVER. I’m glad he came to his senses. Prob realized… money is more important than all this pride sh*t. Trust me.. I go through it everyday in this business…and I choose the $$$$$$$$$$

“What Mike Epps say? ‘Gangstas fuck up too, Whatever I felt this dude Jay did wrong to me, it can’t outweigh the one thing he did do for me – he gave me an opportunity. Dude gave me an opportunity. A lot of people don’t get opportunities. He gave me that. That outweighs everything. I need that in black and white. I got caught in the moment and put my feelings out there. I should have never done that.”
“I was explaining the whole Roc-A-Fella shit and a lot of feelings were going to get hurt. I was airing shit out. Just the homies could listen to that when they come into the studio. I couldn’t put that out. It wouldn’t sit right with me.”- Beans
