Good Tuesday...New Releases

Good Day in Music this Tuesday for new releases. ... Finally. #ahem

I’m pleased. Applause for Bey. This album shows GROWTH. As a faithful fan… the growth (vocally….lyrically…creatively) is blatantly clear on this cd…you can see the transformation over the years. This is ALWAYS good. I’m so proud of her.

“4” is a REALLY good album. Bey has really pulled out the guns with this one. Not only for the commercial audience, but she has cuts that anyone can relate to. No need to point out which songs (although that quick Boyz 2 Men snippet she samples is CRAZY)… take a listen for yourself.Side-Commentary: It’s NO secret that I love the “run the world” single… but after listening to the entire album… which I must keep reiterating is a REALLY good album.. I realize… I can’t listen to it anymore LOL. Even with “Rather Die Young” being my favorite song on there…. Me and Bey aren’t in the same place. I usually end up LOVING a cd because of the mood/state of mind it puts me in. Unfortunately… she is hard in LOVE. Even with the heartbreak cuts.. I can’t listen. I’ve been doing good by ignoring my current situation in this field with staying away from any music that brings up the bad thoughts or makes my heart HURT… by staying busy in any and everything that would take my mind away from it (including burying myself in work). This album made those feelings surface and put me in a bad place. Cut deep… “Ever since you found out you had that power… you made me cry”---- that alone was enough. By the 3rd song I was in ruins LOL. I’ll have to keep this one in the crates… as hard as that will be… until emotional & mental sanity has been restored. It just makes me sad #shrug

Lyrically…… this kid has got it. He is really talented. For a first release… I think he did pretty good. The feel of the album is a little scattered, but that’s a good thing…. The emotion…the raw/blunt bars of his life… and current state all create a puzzle. He’s coming into his own with stories and stories to tell. You can find him telling 4 different ones in one verse alone lol. People who aren’t as “musically” inclined, may not appreciate the album… simply because every cut isn’t commercial. I really wonder how many people will catch the MC hammer sample on “Dance (ass)” off gate (CRAZY). Sorry Fab, but the simile/metaphor torch has been passed as Big Sean is taking that throne on his own. He is definitely on the lookout list. Once he gets on his niche… It’s a wrap for most! #UpNext

YEAAAAAAUUUUUGGGGHHHH!!! (spitta voice). Mr. Franklin has yet to disappoint me with an album. Both Pilot Talk 1 AND 2 are CLASSICS. From the first 30 seconds of this one… I had a :-) . I knew… this was about to be FIRE. The more the cd progressed… the more my mood changed.. in a good way (thankfully because I listened to Bey first and was feelin pretty down lol). One of the reasons I love Curren$y is because he just does him… no matter what song or what situation;..he stays with his Unique Style: Real but random shxt that makes you go “yo forreal?” while trying to replay the bar in your mind. References like “Sam Rothstein” for my “CASINO” fans are sure to grab your attention. The mixtapes may be so so here and there… but spitta sure knows how to pull together an ALBUM. #GoodMusic
