Art All Night took over the Nation's Capitol yet once again. Throughout the weekend, several art events are held across the city. I went to the Block Party at MLK Library this year. They had an insane Go-go band line up rolled out: Experience Unlimited (EU), Black Alley, Junkyard, Backyard, DC Vybe, Relentless, and Push Play ft. D. Floyd. Front Porch hosted by Noochi was, also, on the bill. Art, Food, Music, Vendors.
Ain't no party like a D.C. party...
I wasn't able to grab all of the artists' names, so if you recognize their work.. PLEASE tag them! :)
First thing's first, i.. Poppa. Couldn't help myself.
But seriously, the first order of business was to grab eats!
You won't believe how much this little tray cost me -_-. Egregious.
I instantly saw Spitta. If you get it, you get it.
my homegirl had her station set up!
I hadn't seen Junkyard perform live in yearsss. I was overly excited for their set. They did NOT disappoint! Man.... they hit a version of 'Not Like Us' that was out of this world.
...And of course they did my favorite rendition from them, Anita's 'Sweet Love'.
I found a paint station and grabbed the tools. As it was Libra/My Birthday season...
it was only right.
Voila.
Noochi had a set with his famous 'Front Porch' home as the backdrop.
Tabi Bonney came out!
This just reminded me... I forgot to do a post for the Emancipation Day event. It's not too late is it?
Junk opened their set with a tribute to Frankie, doing a rendition of 'Can't Get Over You'. I don't have it recorded because I was in line for popcorn (smh), but it was absolutely beautiful. The rest of their set? Check it out:
