This was the first time we saw Mel B. breakout as a solo artist and away from her Spice Girl persona. The year was 1998. Soundtracks were still a very important piece of the film, which now seems to be a lost art. Why Do Fools Fall In Love had a star studded cast of Halle Berry, Larenz Tate, Vivica Fox, and Lela Rochon. The original music soundtrack was heavily influenced by Missy Elliott and Timbaland. Now during this time, both artists had an established reputation for innovative and futuristic music videos as well as production. That translated to the albums' lead music videos and overall sound, something completely different from the norm. Way ahead of its time.
Arguably my favorite Destiny's Child song. Top 3 for sure.

I consider this one of En Vogue's best deep cuts. Penned by thee Diane Warren.

An updated sound from the Mista we were jammin to in '96. That influence I mentioned above... if you listen with your eyes closed, it definitely has some of the groups' Playa flavor.
Let me just say, I have several video tapes of recording music videos from The Box and BET, but when I say I had to scrounge the net to find this one? I was baffled. Did V_______ have it removed? What's the deal?? I thought it was so fun and colorful growing up and it definitely made me want a Beetle. This was my first introduction to Lil Mo' and her voice had me looking for more music from her.
In hindsight, it's hilarious how we all had these ideas of what the new millenium would look like and be... only to be all the way in 2026 and it's nothing like that lol. Doesn't stop the ideas, looks, and concepts from being fire. Like this one..
My CD is probably scratched up in the crate(s). I need to find it.
Actually, with that, I have another soundtrack in mind...
