Movie Soundtrack Spotlight: Why Do Fools Fall In Love?

This was the first time we saw Mel B. breakout as a solo artist and away from her Spice Girl persona.  The year was 1998.  Soundtracks were still a very important piece of the film, which now seems to be a lost art.  Why Do Fools Fall In Love had a star studded cast of Halle Berry, Larenz Tate, Vivica Fox, and Lela Rochon.  The original music soundtrack was heavily influenced by Missy Elliott and Timbaland.   Now during this time, both artists had an established reputation for innovative and futuristic music videos as well as production.  That translated to the albums' lead music videos and overall sound, something completely different from the norm.  Way ahead of its time.

Arguably my favorite Destiny's Child song.  Top 3 for sure.

Time Warp...1998: Just Be Straight With Me | Silkk the Shocker x Master P x Destiny's Child

 Circa 1998.

I grew up around GREAT music thanks to Moms' nem so samples were always exciting to me.  I was around 11 when this dropped and still remember how I felt when I first heard it; older bro bought the CD.   Like seriously, I have countless stories in the vault man.  Back to this story though.  The SOS flip had me jamminnn out.  I, also, understand even more now... I don't care what the others think.  Just be straight wit me.
Just. Like. Dat.  Tick to the Tok.
Nah fr... Craig B did his THING on the boards.  P verse too.  Still bumpin in 2022.

Women's Empowerment Wednesdays...

Always put me down when you thought that you could…
I want you to know that I’m doing so good…

Ignore discouragement, hindering words, berating of dreams and so forth at all costs.  Rather return the favor by proving them wrong and giving them something to be mad at... SUCCEED.
Have a great week ladies.  Xoxo.

Nuclear| Destiny's Child

New music from Destiny’s Child J  While fans got super excited for the talks of a new album, the tracklisting was released, and they soon became disappointed.  The album only contains love songs from their previous albums and just one new track.  Bummer.  This one grooves tho, so maybe they will reconsider.
