Motivation Mondays...

Lord I've really been real stressed
Down and out, losin ground
Although I am black and proud
Problems got me pessimistic

Why does it have to be so damn tuff?
I don't know where I can go

Take me to another place
Take me to another land
Make me forget all that hurts me
Let me understand your plan

I’ll get right to it… NO WORRYING THIS WEEK! We run our selves ragged thinking when is this going to happen? When is that going to happen? How am I going to do this? How am I going to do that? Money… Love… Occupation… Living Arrangements… Car… Bills… The World… You name it.. it’s on your mind. Next thing you know.. you’re in a slump.

Well let’s try something different this. BE STILL! Instead of worrying so much about all these things.. talk to the Man upstairs for guidance. After… write down your goals what you’ve been praying for… and/or create your plans and keep them close by. I promise you… looking at the goals will inspire you to STOP worrying and know that they are coming soon. You’d be really surprised how it would affect your thought process. No more slump.. but more of motivation. There will be much anxiety of course… but more in a positive light than negative. It's a task.. but hey let's tackle it... No worrying this week!

So again in a nutshell... Talk with your friend (the man upstairs) about them… write down your goals and/or create your plans… And go from there. He’s got your back the whole way…

As Arrested Development says….

I know you're supposed to be my steering wheel...
Not just my spare tire..

Think about it…..

Black History Month Wrap Up- Feb. 25-28

The Last Day of Black History Month… Sigh. This month really flew by fast. The children’s ministry at church put on a quick presentation during service about Black History/facts. They did great! Especially one girl. She had to be no older than 7 or 8 and her reading was

Don’t just limit the education of history to this month… but embrace all year round. Let us NOT forget.

Women's Empowerment Wednesdays

It’s a known fact unfortunate but known that everyone doesn’t appreciate everything. Whether it’s your boss… a family member… or significant other etc………. There are times where it just seems like nothing you do is ever good enough. After a while, it begins to take a toll and it hurts to different extents (depending on the situation). Either way.. no one likes to feel that unappreciated.

Being emotional creatures whether we display it or not… we (not all but most) tend to think of this defense mechanism… NOT CARE… SHUT EVERYONE OUT… TREAT PPL HOW THEY TREAT ME.. type of mind frame; with a seek in hoping that everyone else will feel what you feel. Questions ladies… Does that ever work?? I’ve done it so much (attempted and failed lol).. it doesn’t work for me. LOL. I finally realized that being nasty to ppl isn’t going to get me anywhere.. they still won’t feel what I feel. No need to be bitter with innocent bystanders or think that your good deeds and work goes unnoticed. God sees it. He notices...

However, I must add that cutting people out of your life that are toxic or keeping people at a distance (i.e. being cordial with the hello and good mornings… but leaving it at that.. especially in the work place) is NOT the same as being bitter and rude to everyone. There is a distinguished difference… Huge difference.

This song is about not building up a wall because love WILL come. On the other hand, I think the context of the lyrics applies to this as well. Ladies, don’t shut out the world completely. The WORLD didn’t bring you that heart ache… that pain.. or anger (if you know what I mean). No need to not say a simple thank you for someone who holds the door.. or for that matter not hold the door for someone that is behind you. If you’re in one of these slumps… Try being positive this week, regardless of the situation… Know that it will pay off… God sees it… Blessings will come in :-) Karma just doesn’t reap for bad people….

Even if you're not in one of these slumps... always encourage another sistah to get out of hers. Keep your head up darlings… You’re all beautiful :) Hang in there…

YOU GIVE…
AND YOU GIVE…
BUT YOU NEVER SEEM TO GET BACK IN RETURN…
WHAT YOU GIVE…
SO YOUR HEART’S IN FIRST…
THROUGH THIRD DEGREE BURNS…
AND IN THE END…
YOU JUST WANT TO GIVE UP…

YOUR GUARD’S UP…
AND YOUR HEART’S COLD…

YOU’RE HOLDING ON TO PAIN FROM SO LONG AGO…

YOU GOTTA LET IT GO…
YOU GOTTA LET IT GO…

A HEART THAT’S PURE… WON’T BE DENIED….

Topic of Discussion: VDay trippin

Today is the 15th…. although the topic of discussion still seems to be the 14th (Valentine’s day). I’ve never been a fan of valentine’s day (because I’ve never had a good one… which I won’t hope for to change next year because it’ll prob be the same lol). Yet and still… I don’t bash or hate on the holiday because others celebrate. It grinds my gears when I hear ppl bashing “ I don’t care about Valentine’s day. I’m worth more than just a day. I get love all through the year blah blah blah”. Ok.. and?? It’s a holiday that focuses around it. Just like every holiday is once a year and you have a birthday ONCE a year.. I don’t see anyone saying all that foolishness then "i don't celebrate my birthday cause i get gifts all year round".... Oh that’s different huh?... riggghhhhtttt.. smh Moving right along…

I won’t lie at all and say I don’t get sad a little on Valentine’s day. Truth is I do. I hope one day I will be able to share the holiday with someone special who actually reciprocates my love for them and not go unnoticed and feel unappreciated. However, in the midst of that… I don’t hate on the next person and theirs. Why? It’s not their fault my 14th seems to be a groundhog day every year (it repeats itself… with the same lonliness and unappreciated feeling). All the bitterness needs to stop. It’s okay to be mad… to be upset.. to be sad. Yes.. you are entitled to that. But why be like that at other’s relationship? It’s not their fault. The foolishness on my twit timeline is killing me.

You’re the side chick… Fuck Valentine’s Day… all that shit has to stop. Does that make you feel better or are you just seeking attention? Either you wit it(vday) or you not. No need to comment on it. When Christmas come around you don’t see Jehovah’s Witness and any other religion saying all types of foolishness to you for celebrating it.. so don’t do it to any one else… Even on something as simple as… Valentine’s day.

Just a thought…. Have a good day lovies…

It's a cold world out here...

Disclaimer: Oh and let me just clarify… I’m talking about (me) aspiring for the REAL relationships and marriages. Commitment. Not the other foolery that seems to be so popular now a days.
Personal Thought: I want to speak on my own circumstance…. But I won't do that to myself today..

I'M FINE WITH YOU...

AND THE POINT OF IT ALL....

Happy Valentine's Day

Spread a little love today ... or you can be a grinch for V-Day... whichever you prefer :-) lol

xoxo

Motivation Mondays...

In lieu of Valentine's Day (today)... I picked this song. For all of you who are pretty down today (for what ever your reason may be.. I know they vary from person to person)... Just remember.. there is somebody out there... and even most the Lord... who loves you.

Women's Empowerment Wednesday???

What happened to Women’s Wednesdays ???

Normally, I post an empowerment blog on Wednesdays to encourage both my sistahs and my self out there. However… some noticed.. yesterday.. there was no post. :-/ Well… I’m here to be honest with my lovies. Normally I wake up and the perfect song pops into my head for the empowerment and what the topic will be about for that Wednesday (i.e. taking care of yourself… being unified with others etc.). Oddly… yesterday I woke up and there were…. *crickets. Even if I don’t think of something immediately that morning… it at least comes to me by mid afternoon. Yet and still… *crickets.

I’ve explained in the past that when I don’t post.. that means either two things.. either I’m terribly busy/exhausted… or there is a lot going on and I am mentally drained. But this time was different. Sure I thought of something here and there… but I wasn’t passionate about it like I am with the others I have posted on Wednesday. I genuinely didn’t want to bullsh*t you guys by not putting in my all and just posting any old thing. That’s unfair. Believe it or not.. I actually put much thought into my Wednesday (Women’s) posts. It’s something I feel strongly about. However…. Yesterday… it just wasn’t there. No I’m not mentally drained or exhausted etc. I’m actually in a great state right now. I felt kinda bad yesterday that I didn’t have anything to offer. It just didn’t come to me as usual :-/ I still want you all to know you’re beautiful of course and that you should be encouraged in any and every way...

I felt I should share this with you guys. Look forward to next Wednesday... no more writer’s block lol (I’m claiming it). Have a great day lovies.

XoXo
