{Watch}:: 04/20 Special : Curren$y Tiny Desk

This 4/20, we got a special treat from NPR.  The one and only Spitta, guaranteed winner, blessed the stage with a whole vibe to celebrate.  I know his catalog stretches long, but personally... this set list here was PERFECT for me.  My faves.  Almost shed a thug tear.  I couldn't imagine seeing this live.  For all my JET family, this one is for us.  LIFE.  Watch below:

A Tribe Called Quest and Wu-Tang Clan Albums to be Archived in the Library of Congress

Each year, the Library of Congress selects a small quantity of recordings to archive in the National Recording Registry.  A few classic hip hop albums reside there so far such as Jay-Z's "The Blueprint", N.W.A's "Straight Outta Compton", De La Soul's "3 Feet High and Rising", Nas' "Illmatic", Dr. Dre's "The Chronic", Run DMC's "Raising Hell", and Lauryn Hill's "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill".

Today, it was announced that ATCQ "The Low End Theory" (1991) and Wu-Tang's "Enter the Wu-Tang 36 Chambers" (1993) would be joining the archive.  The National Recording Registry deemed both “worthy of preservation because of their cultural, historical and aesthetic importance".

{Watch}:: 'Still Rolling Papers', the Official Wiz Khalifa Documentary

Used to not be allowed in the building, but now we on the rooftop..

Last Week, HipHopDX presented Wiz Khalifa's official documentary, 'Still Rolling Papers'; executive produced by Wiz himself.  From being a hometown hero to a worldwide mega star, this 30-minute chronicle is a mixture with past and present footage of Wiz' journey through the rap game.  Watch the documentary in full after the jump!

Editors note:  I am so glad I was able to experience the Kush and OJ tour in 2010 at Baltimore Rams Head  and the Rolling Papers tour in 2011 at Merriweather.   WHAT. A. FXCKING. TIME.  You just don't get music like that anymore.  Before fully converting over to commercial, that Wiz was golden.  Very proud of his success though.  I am, also, glad that Curren$y was mentioned and included in this documentary because he played a PIVOTAL role in Wiz career beginnings...in addition to the elite music they made together.  I love how they are still brothers.
 RIP Mac.

{Personal Post} PHOTOS:: Cafe Tingz x Nardo Wick DC Show

We had one Saturday of warm weather.. and out we went. Actually it wasn't warm warm, but sunny and warmer than usual .  We make it a point to have a girls day/night at least once a month.  March ended with a bang.  Brunch outdoors at a cafe, ran past 'The Flowers', ate ice cream on the museum stoop while ppl watching, and then headed over to the 'secret' bar.

This month, Nardo's show kicked off the shenanigans.

Check out the excursion for both below:
