Time Warp...1993: Whatzupwitu | Eddie Murphy x Michael Jackson

Circa 1993.
Ya'll remember this one!?  Aside from the song, I love Eddie and Mike's chemistry.  Each time you saw them together, you could tell they were friends in REAL life.  I'm sure this was a fun time on set.

5 R&B Records that Could Have Been Gospel Songs

You ever have a record hit you with spirit out of the clear blue sky and realize it's not a Gospel song?  Like mid song... mid sing.  WHAM!  right in the chest.  Message!  The lyrics express a level of love that is immeasurable.  There are several that fit in this category and undoubtedly some I've never heard before.  I've compiled a list of 5 that hit every single time:

5.  He Is- Brandy
It's the only explanation to the question at hand.  Like years of pain, gone away, in a single day.  There's nothing that compares...
If there weren't key indicators like 'kiss on my lips' or the 'love you made with me' etcetera
floating in the lyrics, this right here is giving praises to the most high.  Also, to find Warryn Campbell wrote/produced this lets me know there could have been some gospel influence.

"The Love Fridge" is Supporting Chicago Communities with Food through Solar Energy

I was first introduced to community fridges while researching aid for those affected by the Texas Winter storm last year.  I am truly amazed at the things humanity comes up with when it's time to pull together.  If you aren't familiar, community fridges are just that.  Refrigerators operating in public spaces that provide free food in the community.

"Take What You Need, Leave What You Can"

There are currently 24 Love Fridges across Chicago.  Earlier this month, their first ever solar powered community fridge was opened in the Englewood community.

Megan Thee Stallion launches Online Mental Health Center: Bad Bitches Have Bad Days Too.

 Yes, we do.
The misconception that everything is always together at all times simply from how you present yourself needs to be debunked.  Many are battling things internally and fighting alone.  Meg, one who faces criticism daily courtesy of her celebrity status, can attest to that and has often shared when things become too much.

Bad Bitches Have Bad Days Too is an online mental health haven of therapy platforms and mental health resources (i.e. suicide,

How You Can Still Help Those in Need affected by the Jackson, MS Water Crisis

via MSNBC

Last month, the Pearl and other Mississippi rivers began flooding due to heavy rain pour. During that time, the O.B. Curtis and J.H. Fewell treatment plants were damaged causing an interruption with water pressure.  The water pressure was restored on 09/05 and the ongoing boil water advisory was lifted 09/15, which was in place for more than 40 days.  Yesterday, news outlets reported that many residents have filed a class action lawsuit against the city of Jackson (specifically officials, corporations, etc).  The lawsuit is in efforts of seeking relief for damages, removal of contaminated pipes, cancellation of bills and so forth.

While there has been progress with restoring regular water during this crisis, they could still use a helping hand there.  Here's how you can do your part:

A $5 Billion Moon shaped Luxury Resort is coming to Dubai

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has surged tremendously in tourism over the last few years.  The city is known for its modern architecture, shopping, and appealing glamour.  Can we get much higher?  The answer is yes.  It was recently announced that a luxury hotel resort in the shape of a full moon, 735 feet tall, will make its landing in Dubai.  The hotel is said to feature: 300 private residential 'Sky Villa' units, private club room, night club, spa, 'moon shuttle', event center and other attractions.

Those involved in the project assure that it will be an interstellar and immersive experience for all guests.  The decor is said to include lunar-themed flooring to create a "walking on the moon" feel. Designed by Canadian architectures, Moon World Resorts Inc., the project is set to be complete in 2 years.  Check out @moonresortsinc on IG for more info.  This sounds for certain sounds like a sight to see.  I suspect the final product will be out of this world.  No pun intended.

Lil Yachty Launches his Frozen Pizza line, "Yachty's Pizzeria"

I know you want this for life.
Calling all pizza lovers.  Lil Yachty has never been shy about his passion for this Italian origin dish.  A few years back, he held pizzeria pop-ups in various cities.  Now, the boat has launched his own frozen pizza line, Yachty's Pizzeria.

2017 NYC Pop-Up.

Yachty's Pizzeria offers four flavor options: Buffalo Style Chicken, Hot Honey Cheese, Pepperoni & Bacon, and Veggie Supreme.

I’ve loved making and eating pizza my whole life, so this is a project I’m really excited about and have been for a long time. We made some wild flavors but there’s still something for everybody. I take my pizza seriously so I’m looking forward to seeing what people think.

Am I supposed to change?  Are you supposed to change?

On August 26th, the following day of the 21st anniversary of her death, The Velvet Rope Experience held an Arts Showcase celebrating the life and legacy of Aaliyah.  Vendors, Live Art, Aaliyah spun tunes, and so much more filled the Creative Saints loft that evening; including Shari's InspireTheTribe.  The turn out was fantastic.  The vibe? Hot Like Fire.
It was truly an experience.  In between working (i'll get to that), I was able to capture the moments through photos.  Take a glimpse...

Months ago, this released for an exclusive viewing in a select LA theater for a limited time.  Today, Kendrick released it to the masses.  The song was already a conversation starter when the “Mr. Morale &  The Big Steppers” album hit the waves.   Directed by Jake Schreler, Dave Free & Kendrick himself, the 'We Cry Together' short film is a parallel picture painted.

Nigeria Announces New Ban of Foreign Models

Effective October 1, Nigeria will be the first country to ban the use of foreign models and voice-over artists from their country.  The ban has been fueled with a desire to boost and promote those within the advertising industry from their own country.

In true media fashion, the ban has been spun into a false narrative of banning "white" models only.

Giving Back:: Kodak Black Donates Thousands of Cases of Water to Haiti

Kodak Black has contributed a large donation to help his native country, Haiti.  Recently, the rapper has spent over $50k to supply more than 35,000 bottles of water to residents in Haiti.  His attorney, Bradford Cohen, confirmed Kodak partnered with a Miami supplier to bottle/process alkaline water to deliver on a cargo ship.

Haiti is currently undergoing strife since the assassination of their President, Jovenel Moise, a year ago.  Millions of residents are unable to afford basic necessities.  While Kodak is often in the news for troubled activities, I felt it was necessary to share light on a good deed.  Specifically, when it includes helping your own people.

Books, School Supplies, and other products were also donated to children in need.  Hart, who is a father of 4, acknowledges first hand that he sees the challenges children face...especially during a pandemic.  Now that the world is opening up slowly but surely, Hart expresses that the center will serve as a safe place for children to create, to be active, and to dream.
