{Watch} ALL DAY I DREAM ABOUT SPORT : A Short Film by. Gabriel Moses and Pharrell Williams

I didn’t go to film school or study photography. I’ve always had my own way of working, really trusted that, and stuck with it. My style is made up of all of the things that make me me.
-Gabriel Moses

Le CinĂ©ma Club presents the exclusive online premiere of Gabriel Moses and Pharrell Williams 'ALL DAY I DREAM ABOUT SPORT' film.  Running a little over 20 minutes, the film serves as a visual love letter of culture in Senegal.  The cinematography throughout is striking; fluidly following a story of life and emotions in Senegal's capital city, Dakar.  The film unexpectedly includes a new song from Pusha T- "Mike Tyson Blow to the Face".  Underlying puns peek.

I recently saw Pharrell's 'Piece by Piece' biopic and it was fan-tas-tic.  There was no doubt that he and Gabriel Moses creative minds worked favorably in their synergy.

{Trailer} "Piece By Piece", the Pharrell Williams story

...‘Man, how do I sit and listen to myself philosophize for an hour and change?’ So I never really wanted to do it, but when I was given the opportunity to do a documentary any way I wanted, and Morgan (Neville) raised his hand, it was like, ‘OK, this could be interesting.’ And it’s been nothing but magical. This guy is a masterful painter in the color of vulnerability. He’s just one of the greatest stitchers of tapestry and of eras, ever, and I’m just lucky to be one of his many, many, many subjects.
-Pharrell to Variety

The idea that Pharrell's story should be expressed through a Lego movie fits perfect with his unique and standout personality.  I, myself, thought it was just chatter until the actual trailer released.  It's a real thing.  Focus Pictures presents "Piece by Piece"- the lego cinematic experience of Pharrell's life story featuring voice overs from Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes and more.  "Just be open".  Take a look at the trailer after the jump!

{Trailer} PARAMOUNT+ presents... The Milli Vanilli Documentary

Girl you know it's true.

The buzz for the documentary began a couple months ago and now it's releasing very soon.  The infamous story of mega pop duo, Milli Vanilli--one of the 90s biggest music scandals.  Robert Pilatus (Rob/ Left) and Fabrice Morvan (Fab/ Right) made it all the way to the Grammys and actually won the Best New Artist award, only for it to be discovered later... they were lip syncing to others singing their song.

People could not stop talking about it.  We watched the Milli Vanilli episode on VH1 Behind the Music series at my house growing up when it aired and got the full back story.  After being outed, the extreme ascension from fame was too wounding and ended up costing Rob his life.

Paramount+ is now releasing a feature-length documentary on the duo with unheard reveals within the story, captivating viewers yet once again.  Watch the trailer below:

{Trailer} Mass Appeal x BET Original Documentary... "Welcome to Rap City"

I've been excited about this for months.  We finally have a date (and a trailer).  For those of us who grew up watching Rap City after school in the late afternoon/evenings, we personally appreciate what this show did for the culture.  It was a thing to have the hottest rapper and/or your favorite visit 'The Basement' and talk with Big Tigger, who I met in 4th grade btw at one of our elementary school events.  Back then, he was just an upcoming intern at our local radio station. It wasn't the watered down stuff we get today.  Rap City had real authentic conversations about whatever, beef included, and the latest rap videos shown in between.  The best part?  The booth.  Some of the most memorable and legendary freestyles took place there.  Hov, Beans, Wayne, Cam.  The list goes on.

Mass Appeal partnered with BET to produce a 3-part documentary series about the birth, evolution, and revolution of Rap City.

{Trailer} SHOWTIME presents an Original Documentary... "All Up in the Biz: The Life and Rhymes of Biz Markie"

Most people don’t know that he used those powers to power up some of the culture’s greatest poets and then some. I was fortunate to meet with Biz when he was alive so to have the opportunity to bring him back to life now that he isn’t here…it’s a special film.
-Sacha Jenkins

A closer look into the life, career, and impact of the iconic, Biz Markie.  Directed by Sacha Jenkins, 'All Up in The Biz' will feature exclusive footage, interviews/guest appearances (from DMC, Fat Joe, Tracy Morgan, Nick Cannon etc.) and Puppetry.  These are all important working parts to bring the story together.  SHOWTIME has delivered some exceptional documentaries.  Teddy Pendergrass, Rick James, Wu-Tang, and Hector Camacho (I feel I'm missing one) were all wonderfully done.  I expect the same for this one.  Watch the trailer after the jump!

{Trailer} PARAMOUNT+ upcoming "MIXTAPE" Documentary, featuring Lil' Wayne, DJ Clue, DJ Drama and more

Every other week, there is Twitter banter of who had the greatest mixtape run.  Wayne is always in the top rank, if not THEE top.  Mixtapes were a moment in time as an example of 'you just had to be there'.  No need for sample clearances.  No censorship.  Just bars and music.  Rap beefs, new music, everything.  This was a time where, arguably, a hot mixtape was more influential to the Hip Hop culture than having a hot album.

Lil' Wayne, DJ Clue, Jadakiss, DJ Drama, 2 Chainz, N.O.R.E, KRS-One, Angie Martinez, Mike Tyson, Fabolous, Tony Touch, Funkmaster Flex and many more share their personal experiences and insight on the mixtape subculture.  Paramount+ presents us a documentary diving into the origin and story of the movement that broke the industry.
