Kendrick Lamar's pgLang is Dropping a Minimal "Smart" Phone

Kendrick's pgLang, co-founded by Dave Free, unveiled their latest collaboration with Light: a Minimal Smart Phone.  The Light Phone II has a sleek appearance and offers the essentials- text message, phone calls, and an alarm clock.  Social media, email check, and internet browsing? forget about it.  The product is true to its advertising.  It's just a phone.  The goal is to subtract the anxiety-inducing infinite feeds of today's world.

This 4G LTE phone, however, does feature a customizable menu of tools, headphone jack, bluetooth, and use as a personal hotspot.  It's compatible with U.S. Carriers such as AT&T, Light, Mint, Ting, T-Mobile, US Mobile, and Verizon.  Now that the deets are out of the way, let's get to the cost.

You may have noticed tap dancing notes throughout Kendrick Lamar's critically acclaimed 2022, Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers, album.  Meet the real life dancers: Freddie and Theodore (Teddie) Tisdale.  Hailing from Toledo, OH but residing in Los Angeles, CA, the 14-year old identical twin brothers have been dancing since the age of 4.  To stay sharp, the classically trained pair dedicate 15+ hours a week to their craft.  

Prior to this spotlight, the Tisdale twins were already on the road to stardom.  They performed on NBC'S Little Big Shots, 2018 BET Awards J. Cole performance, and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to name a few.

Months ago, this released for an exclusive viewing in a select LA theater for a limited time.  Today, Kendrick released it to the masses.  The song was already a conversation starter when the “Mr. Morale &  The Big Steppers” album hit the waves.   Directed by Jake Schreler, Dave Free & Kendrick himself, the 'We Cry Together' short film is a parallel picture painted.

A little over a month after the release of his latest studio album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, Kendrick is serving more introspect in an upcoming documentary.  The doc is said to chronicle Kendrick's trip to Accra, Ghana; traveling stories and interacting with the local community.  Though the teaser is only 15 seconds, it's found impactful and sets a concrete tone of what's to come.  No official date of release has hit the waves yet, BUT it is slated to drop THIS week.  Exclusively on Spotify.

It's been a little while since a video and/or song has gotten an individual post on here, but that's how much I dig this.  Kendrick's latest album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, has taken over conversations and air waves since dropping yesterday.  Staying afloat of the tidal, he has released a new video for one of the hardest songs IMO from the album.  The video, just like the other below, is nothing short of commanding and captivating.

When artistic expression is genius.

I want to elaborate on the deep metaphor via the video which compliment's the lyrics of the song, BUT I, also, want you guys to view it for yourselves and see if you are able to capture in its entirety.  Saying the meaning ahead may alter how you would look at the video initially going in blind.  Maybe I'll edit the post later and add that commentary.

I love how somehow someway he is always thinking about the community.  In conjunction with Reebok, Kendrick/TDE will release his first sneaker in a 'neutral' state promoting unity between the Bloods and Crips.  

With the classic Ventilator model, one shoe reflects 'blue' detail and the other reflects 'red' detail.    The new sneaker is set to drop in the states on July 18th for about $140 + tax.  If you can't wait, European retailer Sneaker Bass already has them stocked on their site for purchase here.

Kendrick releases the 2nd visual off his highly discussed current album, To Pimp a Butterfly.  Showing love to his city, King Kunta takes place in none other than different areas of Compton.  To spruce the surprise drop, Kendrick had it premiere on a Beats by Dre billboard in NYC Times Square this evening.  Watch the video below::

How Cool :: (Video) Kendrick Lamar Does a Free Show on the Back of a Moving Truck

Tiiiiight.  As 'How to Pimp a Butterfly' soars up the charts, Kendrick rode through the streets of Hollywood on a flat bed truck performing songs from his current and previous albums.   Partnering with Reebok, this was a part of their #GetPumped campaign.  The crowd was excited and turnt as they followed him through the mobile performance.  Check out some of the highlights in the video after the jump::
