PINK Friday... LITERALLY {for BCA} (Women's Wednesday)

I heard about this Monday, however I thought I’d wait til Women’s Empowerment Wednesdays to post it :) (self explanatory).

Nicki Minaj , who has penned her debut album PINK FRIDAY , initially wanted to release it on Black Friday, 11-26-10 (the extreme retail sales day after Thanksgiving that marks the start of the holiday shopping season). However, her album release date was pushed up to that Monday, 11-22-10, for reason’s I’m unsure of. Kanye’s My Beautiful Twisted Dark Fantasy” , also, drops that day… A good Day for music

CompUSA and TigerDirect have joined forces to turn this shopping frenzy into a charitable extravaganza for its fourth consecutive year. From electronics/technology on online sales portions and customer donations, consumers are expected to raise more than $100,000 for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure ® , the world’s largest Breast Cancer organization.

"I fully support the efforts of Pink Friday and the goal of raising funds to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure and their charge to bring an end to breast cancer," said Minaj. "I am pleased to be associated with the Pink Friday initiatives and to raise awareness amongst fellow African American women who are often the hardest hit by breast cancer." (Business Wire, Miami, 11-15-10)

"As we enter into our fourth Pink Friday, we are reminded that giving back is what the holiday season is all about," said Gilbert Fiorentino, Chief Executive of Systemax Technology Product Group, including CompUSA and TigerDirect. "Along with our customers, we will make a tremendous impact on Komen for the Cure's promise to end breast cancer." (Business Wire, Miami, 11-15-10)

There will be a 12 hour webcast featuring an interview from Nicki (via Skype) along with her video “Your Love”, as well as, breast cancer survivor interviews, and informational videos etc.

News like this warms my heart. Glad Nicki is doing something for a good cause. (spice girls voice)...#GIRLPOWER!!

Women's (Empowerment) Wednesdays....

The days seem to be getting tougher.... :'""(

Hold your head high Sistas.....

Listen as the day unfolds...

challenge what your future holds...
Try and keep your head up to the sky

Lovers, they may cause you tears...
Go ahead release your fears...
Stand up and be counted, don’t be ashamed to cry

You gotta be…

You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold, you gotta be wiser
You gotta be hard, you gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger
You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm, you gotta stay together
All I know, All I know.. Love will save the day…

Golden Ticket!

I’VE GOT THE GOLDEN TICKET!!

(sings)… “Cause I’ve got the Golden Ticket! , It’s ours Charlie!” – Grandpa Joe, Willa Wonka
It’s finally here. And of course… I found a way through all of my madness to get one. I can’t help it.. I love the guy.

Look at it... (Gloria Carter's voice from December 4th) Isn't that special??? :D

"I got into art about 5 years ago or so. I got a couple [of Warhol's]. I have one of the Rorschach over my fireplace in my living room," Jay-Z revealed to Howard Stern. "It's all about art. I try to buy things that resonate with me….."

Side commentary : Now I hope the Rorschach art he was referring to over his fireplace is STRICTLY in reference to Andy Warhol’s . I’ve seen other pieces of Rorschach art… and it kinda creeped me out (well not really… but it is nothing I would want hanging up in my living room.. bedroom.. Any room :-/)

Hov’s admiration for Warhol's art work helped him get the rights to use the iconic painter's famous work of art for the cover of Decoded."We called the Andy Warhol estate, they cleared it one day which was amazing," – Jay-Z

Side commentary: I've had an UNBELIEVABLE day.... Just terrible. This was the only thing to make me smile...

NOW….

Last night please spare me the reminder of embarrassment my Skins had with that terrible performance on MNF Hov gave and EXCLUSIVE interview/conversation with Prof. Cornel West

and Paul Holdengräber at New York Public Library (a SOLD OUT affair) on his book DECODED and the Importance of Context in Hip Hop. I watched it from start to finish and just as excited as if I was there. Incase you missed it, you can watch again here:
oh FYI.. it’s almost a 2hr long stream

He was also featured on CNN discussing....

well i'll let you watch.. :)

Again I ask...

Who you know like Hov????

Everybody knows I'm a .....

So this popped up on my TL today....

The anticipation.. is Killing Me. Glad I have "something" to look forward to these days :'(

Hov's clue for pages 212 & 213 in his scavenger hunt for Decoded.
