{Personal Post} PHOTOS/VIDEO: RZA Presents "The 36 Chambers" 30th Celebration w/ Live Orchestra | New York, NY

Back in September, I blogged about this event and stated I was not missing this show.  I actually bought my ticket before I published the post lol.  It was imperative.  So here we are, 11.09.2023, exactly 30 years from the Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) album release on 11.09.1993.

This show was beautifully crafted and curated so perfectly.  A brilliant mind is all I can say.  What a night!  The excitement returned making this post.  Sharing photos and videos through my lens.
Let's get to it!

Arrived just in time to see the footprints in the sky.

First stop, the carry out.

Ok, I'm ready now.

The line was crazy long.  Naturally, I ended up chatting with folks.  Deb and Dani were two friends behind me in line.

Details.

Finally moving from around the corner.

How disappointed I was to find that the venue didn't have a full length mirror for a fit flick.

Genius wordplay.

After walking around the venue and making my way to the bar, I was escorted to my seat.  What are the odds that Deb and Dani were sitting next to me.

*an accurate depiction of us when that happened

and the chit chattin continued.

DJ Scratch opted to play samples only and it was one of the best DJ sets I've heard in a long time.  Hands down.

I was checking out the coat in front of me like damn... that's kinda fly
and then he turned to the side.
OMG It's Masta Killa !

I made sure to let him know that I was honored.  He was so nice.

Oh to answer your question, yes this is Deb and Dani mentioned earlier.

Showtime!

The Abbott himself on the keys... RZA.

I said "ooht.  Is that?"
mmhmm yes it is.  Allen Maldonado.

Two of ODB's sons performed his verses on 'Shame on Nxgha'.  Let me tell you something.  The crank on this with a live orchestra?  Oh my lord.
Long Live Ason.

They reenacted every skit on the album to the tee.

fun fact:  that's RZA's oldest son.

Ydb meeting with the people.

Mayor Eric Adams of NYC officially declared 11.09.2023 as Wu-Tang Clan Day.  In lieu, they lit up the Empire State Building in Wu's colors.  It was dope to see in person.

Wandering

I was too hyped when I randomly saw this in the street.  Black and yellow too!?  C'mon man.  The entire night was just fire.  Understandably, I couldn't throw up the actual Wu sign AND snap the pic... so this W will suffice.

I saw this place a couple times advertising that they had the best chicken fingers, so I went to see what was up.

I ordered the chicken and waffles that came with 'waffle sauce'.  It was aight. lol.

This night was amazing.   Everyone did a fantastic job performing.  From the dancers, to the actors, to the martial artists, to the orchestra, to DJ Scratch, to the Wu.  I hope you enjoy this video as much as I enjoyed making it.  Reliving the moment.
It's Wu-Tang Forever.  Muthafxcka.
