Pharrell & Grutman's South Beach hotel, The Goodtime, now Open

via Ocean Drive Mag/March issue

Come get it babe...

Pharrell and David Grutman teamed up a while ago for the creation of this hotel.  Now it's finally open. Located on South Beach and Washington, 601 Washington Ave to be exact, you will find 'The Goodtime'; available for bookings of rooms starting at $260/night.  The hotel's 'Strawberry Moon' is a full service restaurant with a bar and indoor/outdoor pool, however still reflects coming soon status.

The official website gives me Fyre Fest vibes.  Aesthetically that is.  It doesn't show much of what to expect.  I suppose you will just have to experience it in person OR more photos will be added as the year progresses.   View more photos from the site and Ocean Mag Drive below:

Randomly: The weather is warm, sunny, and this song has been stuck in my head for over 24 hrs.  2011 was a good year for music.  I couldn't find it on YouTube to post on here.  Thank you Soundcloud.

Wu-Tang Clan set to release 400-pound Photo Album

This is a gathering of the masses that come to pay respects to the Wu-Tang Clan...

The book isn't that heavy, but it's enclosed in a 400 pound steel and bronze chamber designed by sculptor Gethin Jones.  Only 36 copies will be released worldwide.  36 Chambers.  You get it.

You are said to find rare and never before seen photos of the Wu in this 300 page book.  The cost hasn't been released yet.

I have the manual...

but I would love to add the photo book to my collection.  Click HERE for a chance to snag a copy.   SUUUUUUUU.

Little Boy | Sault

Appropriately for the last day of Black History Month, here's a subtly powerful tune that contains our unfortunate truth.  A reminder that many things are still the same and we are still in the fight.   Together.

Little boy...little boy... when you get older...

you can ask me all the questions.  And i'll tell you the truth about the boys in blue...

{Streaming Now} 5 Movies Worth Checking Out ... #BlackHistoryMonth

img via glassell house

There were a few movies I watched that highlighted our struggle and not in the beaten down typical slavery film way.  While Slavery is a MAJOR part of our history, there are countless other aspects to cover.  Black History does not have to be condensed to a month, the shortest month at that.  Celebrate us all year long.  Here are a few movies, fairly new- very recent, to check out:

High Flying Bird- NETFLIX.  Andre Holland (Moonlight), Melvin Gregg (Snowfall tv series), Zazie Beetz (Atlanta tv series), Sonja Sohn (The Wire).  I actually have the book that inspired this film: "The Revolt of the Black Athlete"- Harry Edwards, and posted a copy of it below.  Anywho, I thought of many ways to describe the plot, but I feel the trailer does more justice.  Watch below:

Westside Gunn announces opening of his Boutique Art Gallery, "Buffalo Kids"

"...you could talk fly if you want, but I'm the goat"- Westside Gunn/Gustavo

Adding more and more endeavors under his belt, the Flygod announces the opening of his first flagship store featuring art, fashion, merch, music, exclusives... Culture.  BUFFALO KIDS has found a home in Walden Galleria Mall (in Buffalo), next to the Starbucks and Footlocker.  Griselda puts on for they city man.   I ain't mad it.  No specific opening date has been shared, but March 2021 has been reported.  I can't wait to see what he has in store; double entendre.  I truly believe it will be worth the hype.
