Obey Your Verse:: Missy Elliott, Tupac Shakur, & J.Cole on new SPRITE can series

SPRITE has returned for their second 'Obey Your Verse' campaign, this time around featuring Tupac, J. Cole, and Missy Elliott.  As with the last campaign, this series will highlight a total of 16 cans with lyrics from each artist on their own.  

The campaign will run through the peak of the summer from June 20 through August 15.  Visit SPRITE's official Tumblr page for more photos!

During Cole's 29th birthday last night, it was announced that his label Dreamville Records signed a partnership deal with Interscope Records. In lieu of celebrating, Cole saw fit to release the 11 track mixtape, Revenge of the Dreamers, showcasing Dreamville - Cole himself, Bas, K-Quick, and Omen (featuring one of my jams 'Lit').

Last night during the 2014 Grammys, MMG decided to drop the visual for the 'Black Grammys' track off the Self Made Vol. 3 compilation album. Directed by DRE films, this visual showcases the appreciation to the fans ...accompanied by sizzled bars of course.
I just want to speak on this. Last night (every year -_-), people were tweeting how 'we' really didn't win anything and were robbed from awards in certain categories (i.e. Best Rap Album etc.) News flash. The Grammys have never been about 'us' nor is it for 'us'. I wish folk would realize that. It's been evident for the longest. This is why we have our own award shows to give us the shine we deserve. It should come as NO surprise there who won certain things or who was even nominated. It's reminder songs like these with stand out artists that send a power subliminal message and in a way a will of empowerment.
Just wanted to get that off my chest. Back to the music though. Watch the video below:

TKO Remix | Justin Timberlake x J.Cole x ASAP Rocky x Pusha T

From what was already a hot track, on Black Friday JT delivered a hotter remix in which he added Cole, Rocky, and Pusha. While this is said to be Cole's official response to Kendrick's "Control" verse (which is clear when you listen), that's neither here nor there. He went IN regardless.. and I mean IN. No shade, but I'm happy to have a respectable response of this stature come into fruition.
In addition to that, neither of them fell short on this track. Well done. Listen after the jump...

While this track dropped months ago, I was reminded while listening again today that I definitely need to make this a highlight for a Pod Post Thursday segment. Queens native, Bas, is the first artist signed to J.Cole's 'Dreamville' label. This track, from his 'Quarter Water Raised Me Vol. 2', focuses on chicks and the self-explanatory title over a mesmerizing sample loop of Miguel's 'Do You'.

Here’s a response, or remix if you will, from Nas to Cole’s track ‘Let Nas Down’ on Born Sinner (in stores now).  This has to be a crazy humbling moment for Cole.  To have someone who you look up to greatly, tell you that you actually didn’t let them down but you made them proud.  I’m sure the feeling can’t be explained.  Listen Below:
