Day 1.

I made the mistake of not charging my phone before heading to Philly.  My car charger croaked on the way.  By the time I walked in MIA, I was on about 38%.  I snapped what I could on this day, but didn't get as much as I liked.

Coast to Coast:: Jay-Z announces 2014 'Made In America' Festival held in Philly AND Los Angeles

Who saw this coming?
This morning, Jay headed to City Hall with Mayor Eric Garcetti in Downtown LA to announce the Made in America festival will be held there Labor Day weekend (annual weekend) at Grand Park. Oddly.. the festival will ALSO be held still in the routine location of Philadelphia.... The SAME weekend -_-. With that being said, the lineups will be different on each coast. LA councilman, Jose Huizar, is not excited as he expresses that he will not issue any permits for the event until more of the community inputs their opinion. Huizar has concerns about street closures for 10 days that would impact Downtown LA residents and workers directly. In brighter news, rumors have circulated that Jay and his wife Beyonce are set to tour together this summer. No deets or confirmations on that, but if I receive any updates on both of these...I'll make sure to spread the word to you all.

Sn: I've gone every year it has been held and am quite annoyed that it's in two different places and the same weekend. It's kind of like inadvertently creating a contest against the line-ups and sales. I'm, also, annoyed that TicketMaster sent an email out Monday (to us folk who've attended the festival previously) indicating the presale for Made In America began that day (ending yesterday)...with the previous address listed in Philly. I tried at least 10 times to purchase mine and kept receiving an error message. And then I get word of this this morning. I'm not understand WHY would You, ticketmaster, send out the email period if you knew there was going to be two locations and/or that it was going to change very soon? Just like last September when your customer service was still telling people the Rock the Bells Festival (in DC) was still happening, but it was already announced that it was cancelled… THEN told all the ticket buyers (myself) included at the last minute as if we didn’t already know. Speaking of the crazy customer service, I JUST received a response from customer service earlier this week regarding my error message asking was I trying to buy tickets for the Philly or LA fest? As if the LA location wasn't just announced and was posted Monday. -_-. Planned out eh? Janet Jackson face at these careless and unnecessary slip ups. I ‘m an avid customer, buttttt… get it together man.

On my birthday last week :-D, Jay'Z's 'Made in America' Documentary aired on SHOWTIME. Produced by Jay-Z/Directed by Oscar Winner Ron Howard, The documentary focused on the first M.I.A. in 2012 featuring clips of performances, interviews from artists (Run-DMC, Jill Scott, Janelle Monae, Odd Future, Jay-Z etc.), the process of putting the festival together, and even what some of the folks in the community thought of having a festival so close to their homes. This past Labor day weekend, I went to the Made In America Festival again in Philly. Amaze balls as usual. I haven’t made a post about an event featuring pics in a LONG time, but there was no way I could not make this one. I took pics of EVERYTHING again and made quite a few videos of me jamming etc. (i.e. beyonce… schoolboy q… Kendrick…Taylor gang) I won’t post the videos {insert eye cover emoji}, but I noticed some of the pics I can’t post because I didn’t realize until after the fact that I was wayyy too live from dancing and they came out crazy. The ones that look sensible.. I will post. Again, due to preserving battery life or being pre-occupied with eating amongst other things, I didn’t get pics of all the artists. Nevertheless, I have to share my moments with you all  …

Jay-Z's "Made In America" SHOWTIME Documentary Trailer...

It's a bigger idea than just the concert…

We all have the same struggle…

...And the same dreams...

I can’t explain the feeling I get from watching this trailer and being able to say I experienced that… TWICE. Moments showed in the footage….I actually remember personally. All happen to be from last year’s festival, but I’m thinking they may add some from this year (maybe).
The feeling I get is even more intensified to know that my favorite artist decided to debut this documentary of awesome moment on Showtime… on MY BIRTHDAY. It actually makes me not want to go out and just watch this lol jk. But seriously… this is awesome.

Trailer: Made in America Festival 2013

I am so fucking stoked.  I tweeted about this not too long wishing that there would be another festival this year.  Today, I find… my wish was granted J

I had such an amazzzzing time at last year’s festival (click here).

They haven’t released a line-up yet but you can definitely count me in.  The presale for the tix started today and end tomorrow at 10pm for all the early birds.

The festival will occur during Labor Day weekend again.  I’ll keep you posted as more info comes my way.

Until then… enjoy this trailer:

{Personal Post} Photos:: Live and Direct with the Made in America Festival 2012

This past Labor Day weekend, I had the chance to attend the Made in America Festival in Philly. This was my first outdoor festival and I was overly looking forward to it. Needless to say, it was everything I thought it would be AND MORE! I had a effin ball! I managed to capture some photos. Some while I was moving (lol).. some standing still. Nevertheless, I tried my best to capture a wonderful moment I'll never forget!

Hola Hovito!  Hov had a rather star studded set!  Freeway, Chris & Neef, Common, Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, Memphis Bleek, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Pusha T etc. all stopped by to perform a feature or two.  Turnt wasn't the word...

Even President Obama stopped by to say a few words.  This moment was breath taking.

I wanted ya'll to get a glimpse of this crowd.  NO joke out there...

Honestly, these ppl had the best view in the house.  No ticket purchases, just pure "let's go out on the blacony and watch the show" type shxt.  You should have seen how many ppl were throwing parties on their balconies.  LIVE.

Odd Future.

It started raining... but I was prepared lol.

Drake.  I'm not a fan of his.  But he did bring out French Montana and 2 Chainz (from what part I saw).. so it was ok to me

There were so many artists I was unable to snap pics of (solely trying to preserve battery life), but Scrillex and Run DMC .. SLAYED the stage.  2 of my favs next to Hov.  If they have another one next year, I'm definitely attending.  You should too!
